NextGIS will take part in FOSS4G:UK 2026 in Leeds with a talk on building collaborative QGIS workflows using open-source tools.
The conference takes place on October 12-13 at Horizon Leeds. We are looking forward to sharing our approach to QGIS teamwork and hearing how other teams manage shared data and projects.

QGIS makes it easy to create maps, edit data, and run geospatial analysis. When several people work on the same project, new questions arise. Where should the shared data live? How do changes made in QGIS appear on the web? What happens when two people edit the same feature? And how can the team see who changed it later?
In our conference talk, we will show how NextGIS Web and NextGIS Connect work together to address these questions.
NextGIS Web provides a central place to store and publish geospatial data and web maps, with access permissions and built-in version control for vector layers. NextGIS Connect links that server to QGIS, allowing users to publish QGIS projects as web maps, open published maps in QGIS, and edit server-hosted data from their familiar desktop environment.
We will also look at feature attachments: photos, documents, and other files linked to spatial features. With the latest NextGIS Connect capabilities, team members can manage these files from QGIS or the web interface. Changes to attachments are recorded in the data history alongside edits to geometry and attributes.
Team members need a reliable way to work on the same data, understand each other’s changes, and recover from mistakes. Connecting QGIS to a shared Web GIS gives teams a common workspace while preserving the tools they use every day.
