Recently we’ve released our new network installer that utilizes our build system – NextGIS Borsch that provides uniformly built packages for Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
Building on top of it, we added a new important function to all of our desktop software – convenient online updating system. Now you’ll be notified about available updates and the update process could be run directly from NextGIS QGIS or Formbuilder. You no longer need to visit websites to download new versions. Our software will determine if updates are available, notify and update itself if you allow it.
The second important feature is that only parts that require updates will be downloaded, saving bandwidth and time. NextGIS QGIS will even restore the project you’ve been working on after an update.
Finally, the installer itself (32 bit, 64 bit Windows, Mac OS), used to deploy our software can now also self update, so you’ll never miss an important bug-fix.
