NextGIS will participate in the United Nations Development Program, Global Environmental Facility, and Ministry of Nature Resources and Ecology of Russia “Improving the Coverage and Management Efficiency of Protected Areas in the Steppe Biome of Russia” (more). NextGIS will lead a part of the project titled: “Developing GIS-based interactive maps territory control system for pilot steppe reserves” for Chernye Zemli, Orenburgsky, Tsentralno-Chernozemny, and Daursky Reserves (more in Russian).

On January 15th, 2012, NextGIS specialists took part in “Regimes of protected natural areas,” a conference devoted to 130th anniversary of professor V.V. Alekhin in Kursk. You can read opinions and see the presentation on the GIS-Lab Blog.

In addition, we have developed a structurized list of PA problems that can be solved with GIS. You can read the document at GIS-Lab (in Russian). There are plans for a more formal publication.
