Boundaries of administrative division of Russian Federation: country’s border, administrative units of the first level (oblasts, krays, republics) and second level (municipal regions) are inaccessible or, if accessible, outdated datasets.
The aim of this project is to provide a value-added product based on OpenStreetMap data (OSM).
The new service automatically converts data on administrative division from OSM into ESRI Shape format, ready to use in most GIS.
Data are regularly updated by OSM mappers, that is why extracts are made daily. We are also storing previous versions, clip boundaries using coastlines, generate growth statistics and add ОКАТО and ОКТМО codes.
