NextGIS workshop in Mongolia for the nature conservation community

We share our expertise in Geographic Information Systems with the conservation organizations to help them introduce newest technologies into their research. Preserving nature has long been one of the priorities for NextGIS.

On March 21-22, 2024, our team conducted a workshop for representatives of Mongolia’s conservation community. The event was held in Ulaanbaatar with the assistance of Wildlife Science and Conservation Center of Mongolia.

In this workshop we addressed the topics most relevant to the audience:

  • Collecting and analyzing data on climate and relief;
  • Preparing data for work in GIS;
  • Designing map layouts for scientific publications.
  • Sharing information via Web Maps

The participants also had an opportunity to practice gathering field data in NextGIS Collector.

Over a dozen organizations took part in the event, including representatives from Hustai National Park, Snow Leopard Conservation Foundation, Mongolian Bird Conservation Center, Mongolian University of Life Sciences, and Wildlife Conservation Society. We look forward to a long cooperation!
